Custom Solutions Manufacturing Fabricator

We're looking for a Custom Solutions (CS) Manufacturing Fabricator. You’ll play a hands-on role in producing high-quality, leak-tight fluid system assemblies to meet customer specifications. Reporting to the CS Manufacturing Supervisor, you'll work with CNC tube-cutting machinery, tube bending equipment, and technical drawings—including P&IDs and work instructions—to assemble and test systems that meet Swagelok’s strict quality standards.

This role is critical to delivering zero customer disappointments. You’ll follow SQS (Swagelok Quality System), ISO 9001, and internal procedures while contributing to a culture of safety, precision, collaboration with teams to meet production targets and continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

 

Production quality & efficiency

  • Consistently produce assemblies that meet all quality parameters, helping the team achieve or exceed production throughput targets.
  • Maintain minimal rework by proactively addressing quality concerns.

Adherence to SQS-D & ISO 9001

  • Strictly follow all documented procedures, quality standards, and customer specifications to ensure zero customer disappointments.
  • Participate in audits and non-conformance investigations as needed.

Health & safety compliance

  • Support a zero-incident environment by diligently applying health and safety best practices.
  • Promptly report any accidents, near misses, or unsafe conditions.

 

Team collaboration

  • Work closely with other fabricators, the Manufacturing Supervisor, and cross-functional teams (Procurement, Quality) to address any part shortages, quality concerns, or workflow inefficiencies.
  • Provide input for continuous improvement initiatives and lean manufacturing projects.

Associate appraisals & developments

  • Mentor and coach other associates that may be new to the role or in development.

Skills and experience required

Qualifications | Essential

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in an engineering/manufacturing/fabrication environment.
  • Proven ability to read and interpret 2D/3D CAD drawings, P&IDs, and BOMs.
  • Familiarity with welding and orbital welding processes (as applicable to the product lines).

Qualifications | Preferred

  • HND or equivalent in a relevant discipline.
  • Ability to operate and program CNC tube-cutting machinery.
  • Welding qualification (orbital or standard) and/or other fabrication-specific certifications.
  • Training or certifications in lean manufacturing or process improvement methodologies.

Experience | Essential

  • Demonstrated track record of working with tight tolerances and complex assemblies.
  • Comfortable using basic IT systems (MRP/ERP software, Microsoft Office) to record data and track progress.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and within strict deadlines.

Experience | Preferred

  • Previous experience with leadership or mentorship within a workshop environment.
  • Experience working in a regulated environment with established safety and quality standards (e.g., ISO 9001).
  • Problem-solving background (e.g., root-cause analysis).

Skills/Knowledge | Essential

  • Good written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical information clearly.
  • Strong attention to detail, organisation, and time management.
  • Basic math and measurement skills relevant to fabrication.

Skills/Knowledge | Preferred

  • Knowledge of 5S methodology, Kaizen events, or other continuous improvement tools.
