Technical Trainer

We are seeking a Technical Trainer who will play a key role in delivering, developing, and maintaining all aspects of our training courses and service. As a Technical Trainer you will have set goals of targeted revenue growth, and you will always act in the best interest of the customer, always applying sound ethics and service. As one of our Technical Trainers, you will establish and maintain strong client relationships through various means of communication as well as being responsible for providing a range of training services and look to promote Swagelok technical solutions to challenges.

Key responsibilities

 

  • Delivering training courses in various technical and practical subjects associated with small bore tubing applications to an agreed standard to enhance our reputation in the marketplace
  • Facilitate technical assessments as necessary by any accrediting body or Swagelok
  • Administration of course paperwork in accordance with company policy
  • Classroom setup, management of stock and materials, maintenance of tools, equipment and facilities
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of training services through review, development, and enhancement of resources to ensure ongoing relevancy to the customer
  • Work in accordance with company policies, operating procedures, and guidelines, along with any accrediting bodies requirements
  • Work in liaison with the Technical Manager and Training Coordinator to ensure the highest level of service and responsiveness to our external and internal customers
  • Develop and maintain a thorough working knowledge of Swagelok products and services
  • Acquire and develop all the necessary presentation, practical and technical skills to ensure each course is delivered professionally on time and to an excellent standard
  • Actively contribute to any tasks or projects that are assigned to you ensuring that you complete to a high standard and to agreed deadlines
  • Any other delegated responsibilities as instructed by line management within the time-frame agreed, in a safe and efficient manner to meet business requirements, provided the instruction is reasonable and you are capable and deemed competent to fulfil these.

 

Skills and experience required

Knowledge and experience | Essential

Occupational experience with small bore tubing systems:

  • Educated to HND/HNC or equivalent (preferably in mechanical engineering discipline) or relevant occupational experience/qualifications considered

  • Assembling and installing SBT Disassembling and reinstalling SBT Bending small bore tubing

  •  Strong skills in MS Office suite (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Outlook) 

  • Good Communication skills, both written and verbal with excellent presentation skills

  • Good time management skills

  • Work effectively in a team environment

Skills | Desirable

  • Experience in Small Bore tubing and fluid system applications, specifically instrumentation

  • Occupational experience working with instrumentations, valves and tube fittings

  • Professional training qualification

  • Assessor qualification

  • ECITB approved trainer

  • Swagelok Tube Fitting Installation course experience

Other skills

  • Understand the importance of personal development and work toward agreed actions

  • Experience with working with technically diverse team members

  • Proficient with IT packages and systems

  • Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to work under pressure and stick to deadlines
