Training Hub >> Meet the Trainer - Lloyd Hill
Professional introduction
I bring over 25 years of experience in precision engineering, including a career as a Military Aircraft Engineer. I specialise in fluid system installation training, tube bending and fitting certification, and high-purity systems training, delivering hands-on courses that combine technical expertise with practical application. My training focuses on developing engineer competence, safety-first practices, and real-world problem-solving skills. Every session is designed to ensure measurable outcomes, including reduced installation errors, improved operational safety, and consistent high-quality system performance across critical industries such as aerospace, defence, and OEM manufacturing.
Personal introduction
Throughout my career, I have maintained, repaired, and optimised complex aircraft systems where precision, reliability, and safety are non-negotiable. I am passionate about training and mentoring, having guided numerous RAF engineers to master exacting technical standards.
I am drawn to Swagelok’s commitment to quality, integrity, and innovation, and I strive to reflect these values in both my engineering work and training delivery. My approach centres on continuous improvement, attention to detail, and fostering a culture of excellence and accountability.

Training philosophy and approach
I believe in hands-on, safety-first, competency-focused training. Practical experience combined with the freedom to make mistakes in a safe environment builds confidence and capability. I emphasise problem-solving, real-world application, and measurable outcomes, including reduced errors, improved safety, and compliance assurance. On average, I train over 500 delegates per year, providing practical, scenario-based learning that ensures engineers can construct high-quality, leak-tight fluid systems ready for critical applications.
Training experience
I have developed and delivered classroom, on-site, blended, and bespoke training programmes for military and civilian engineers. Practical, scenario-based training equips delegates to construct reliable, leak-tight fluid systems, confident in their skills.
Developing long-term capability and safety excellence in critical industries
I take great satisfaction in helping engineers overcome technical challenges, guiding them to achieve high standards of precision, reliability, and safety. Seeing learners develop confidence and competence in fluid system installations is one of the most rewarding aspects of my role.
Tube Bending Essentials: Lloyd Hill guides delegates through precision tube bending, showing why getting it right is critical for leak-tight, reliable fluid systems.
