What a day! The weather was beautiful, the sun cream was being passed around, the iced drinks flowing and Tony Copley was sweltering over the BBQ.
We started with a swift practice run that gave our driver Alex Chu a lot of confidence. The slim width and stable wheelbase was proving a great combination as this years course had a much tighter run at the top.
With two timed-runs to take us to the podium Alex ran the first in 31.49 seconds. Unfortunately this only provoked our team into thinking we had a chance at the title resulting in a spectacular wipeout from Alex on his final run. Have a look at the video below to see this unfortunate incident unfold!
Congratulations to the winners 'Bristol Freeride' who absolutely flew down the track!
A Shout Out to our friends at A-gas who absolutely smoked the competition! As expected it's a brilliant design with all the bells and whistles.
Special thanks to Luke Harvey the project manager for the event, Alex Chu for designing and driving and Rob Morris for his epic welding.
Many of our colleagues and their families turned up on the day to enjoy the barbecue and watch the racing - the opportunity to sponsor such an event whilst supporting a wonderful charity (St Peter's Hospice) has been a highlight for the whole company.
Hopefully we will get a chance to do it all again next year.....
