Find me on:

Preparations are underway for a team at Swagelok Bristol to design and build a Soapbox racer to be raced in July 2019 in Portishead.

Information about the race can be found here -https://www.portisheadsoapbox.co.uk/

As a sponsor of this charitable event we are really looking forward to entering this race. With 6 people allowed within each team - there is only one driver and one passenger at any one time. As you might imagine we aren't short of drivers at this stage so we will have to come up with a plan to make a decision on who gets to drive!

In it's third year, 2018 saw 40 teams compete so there is some stiff competition along with a variety of obstacles. Soapbox's are designed to run on gravity only, so no motors or pedal power allowed. This map of last year's race shows the course layout - a 450m downhill stretch with kickers, chicanes, ramps and more!

This year's race will run on the 14th July 2019 and it is totally free for spectators to come and watch.

Will we see you on the start line? Stay tuned for our progress reports.....!
