Course overview
Become a codified welder and complete the Swagelok® M200 Orbital Welding and ASME IX Certification course for manual and orbital welding. In this advanced course, you will learn valuable orbital welding skills including how to achieve consistent and quality welds with the Swagelok® M200 orbital welder, as well as how to write weld procedures. Complete a fully certified 4/5 day course or choose an introduction to Orbital welding which is suitable for both welders and weld operators without previous orbital welding experience and experienced welders requiring a refresher course.
Who is this course for?
Suitable for welders and weld operators without orbital welding experience who want to learn the technique as well as experienced orbital welders with a desire to improve their skills under ASME qualifications, this training programme is an intensive 4 day course that covers a range of welding techniques and skills under qualified expert supervision.
What's involved?
Our Orbital Welding Training Course is run by experienced operators with Certified Weld Inspector (CWI) and Certified Weld Educator (CWE) qualifications.
At the end of our 4 day course you must be able to successfully prepare and weld a tubing system without assistance. An optional fifth day is also available. This advanced programme covers welding under ASME Section IX and contains an exam to achieve certification.
Training objectives
Utilising the latest in cutting edge welding techniques, our course has the following training objectives:
- Ensuring that you can set up and operate welding equipment
- Familiarisation and comprehension of fundamental metallurgy and the industry standards and specifications for orbital welding
- Learn how the correct gas selection and purging techniques can affect the overall quality of a weld
- Learn how to select, setup, and care for tungsten electrodes
- Practice orbital welding on multiple applications with up to 4 inch diameter tubing
- Development of a weld procedure and practice that can impact the quality of a weld by adjusting the process
- Learn maintenance techniques and procedures that protect your equipment while also utilising troubleshooting methods to limit the risk of errors
- All techniques would prepare the delegate for ASME Section IX certification
- Optional 5th day to prepare certifiable samples for ASME Section IX
Introduction to M200 Orbital Weld Training
